Getting Started

  1. Install FlowClip: Add the extension from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Open a webpage: Navigate to the page containing the data you want to extract.
  3. Click the FlowClip extension: Open the extension from your browser toolbar (this will open the side panel).
  4. Choose extraction mode: Select one of the available extraction methods.
  5. Review results: Check the live preview of your extracted data in the side panel.
  6. Export: Copy the JSON to your clipboard or download it as a JSON or CSV file.

Extraction Modes

Extract Selection

Highlight any text or content on the webpage, then right-click and choose "Extract selection with FlowClip" or use the button in the side panel. FlowClip will parse the HTML structure of your selection and convert it into structured JSON.

Extract Tables

Click the "Extract Tables" button in the side panel. FlowClip will highlight all detected <table> elements on the page. Click the table you want, and FlowClip will convert it into a list of rows, ready for CSV export.

Pick Repeated Items

This mode is perfect for product lists, directories, and search results. Click the "Pick Repeated Items" button, then click on one item (like a single product card). FlowClip will analyze the DOM to find similar nearby elements and extract them all as a structured array.

Export Options

  • Copy JSON: Instantly copies the extracted array to your clipboard.
  • Download JSON: Saves the result as a .json file to your computer.
  • Download CSV: Converts the structured data into a flat CSV format and downloads it as a .csv file. Useful for importing into spreadsheets.

Troubleshooting

  • Chrome internal pages: FlowClip cannot run on chrome:// pages or the Chrome Web Store due to browser security restrictions.
  • Shadow DOM / Canvas: Pages that heavily rely on Shadow DOM or Canvas elements for rendering may not extract perfectly, as FlowClip relies on standard HTML DOM structures.
  • Dynamic Content: If a page loads content dynamically as you scroll, you may need to scroll down to load the elements before running the extraction.
  • Structure Changes: If a website updates its layout, repeated item extraction might require you to re-select the target item.
  • Protected Content: FlowClip is designed for public or authorized content. Please ensure you have permission to extract data from the site you are visiting.
