Permissions - FlowClip

FlowClip requires certain Chrome permissions to function. We strongly believe in transparency and the principle of least privilege. FlowClip intentionally avoids broad host permissions (like reading all data on all websites at all times) in the current version.

FlowClip accesses website content only to provide the user-requested extraction functionality. The extension does not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to its single purpose. No remote JavaScript or executable code is downloaded or executed.

Permissions We Use

Permission	Why FlowClip needs it	When it is used
activeTab	Lets FlowClip access the webpage you are currently viewing.	Only after you interact with the extension (e.g., clicking the extension icon or using a context menu).
scripting	Used to run FlowClip's packaged extraction code on the active webpage.	After the user requests extraction, to analyze the DOM and extract data.
storage	Used to store the most recent extraction result locally in Chrome.	When you extract data, so it persists if you close and reopen the side panel.
downloads	Used to save extracted data as a file to your local computer.	When you explicitly click "Download JSON" or "Download CSV".
contextMenus	Adds an "Extract selection with FlowClip" option to your right-click menu.	When you highlight text on a webpage and right-click.
sidePanel	Displays FlowClip's extraction tools and data previews beside the current webpage.	When you open the FlowClip extension.
